  • September is an ideal time to visit the Amalfi Coast. Expect warm, pleasant temperatures ranging from 70-85°F (21-29°C), with plenty of sunshine and minimal rainfall. The summer crowds have thinned out, making it perfect for a wedding and exploring the region. Daytime temperatures are warm and comfortable, with cooler evenings perfect for outdoor events.

  • Yes, absolutely! The Amalfi Coast is famous for its steep terrain and numerous staircases. Many towns are built into steep cliff sides, which means lots of walking up and down stairs. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. If you have mobility concerns, it's important to plan ahead and ask about accessibility at specific venues and accommodations.

  • While learning a few basic Italian phrases is appreciated, English is widely spoken in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, and among younger locals. In the Amalfi Coast, which is a popular international destination, most hospitality staff and tour operators speak English fluently.

  • The Amalfi Coast is in the Central European Time (CET) zone, which is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time (ET) in the United States.

  • We recommend arriving 1-2 days before wedding events to help your body adjust to the time difference, overcome jet lag, and have time to explore the area. This will help you feel more rested and enjoy the wedding celebrations fully.

About the Amalfi Coast

  • We recommend flying into Naples International Airport (NAP) for the most convenient access to the Amalfi Coast. NAP is about 1-1.5 hours away from Amalfi town.

  • We recommend private transfers (most convenient) to get from NAP to Amalfi town.

  • Unfortunately, the concept of room blocks does not exist in southern Italy. You can find our list of recommended hotels on our Accommodations page linked here. We recommend booking early as Amalfi is a popular destination.

  • While learning a few basic Italian phrases is appreciated, English is widely spoken in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, and among younger locals. In the Amalfi Coast, which is a popular international destination, most hospitality staff and tour operators speak English fluently.

  • For short distances, the best way to get around Amalfi town is walking.

    For longer distances, there are several options including taxis services, local buses (inexpensive but can be crowded), and ferry services between coastal towns.

Travel & Accommodations

  • The wedding ceremony begins at 4:00pm and will be followed by dinner and dancing at Villa Vettica in Amalfi.

  • For our wedding, we kindly request Black Tie Optional attire (black tie or formal attire). Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a tuxedo or suit and tie. Ladies can opt for a floor-length gown or a formal dress. We look forward to seeing everyone in their finest attire!

  • We do not have a traditional gift registry and we are also not asking for cash gifts.

    We understand the financial and personal considerations when considering traveling abroad. Your presence will be the greatest gift of all!

Wedding Events

  • The Euro (€) is the currency. We recommend bringing some Euros (specifically for private transfer/taxi from NAP to Amalfi), but credit cards are widely accepted at restsurants and shops. You can also get euros at ATMs in Amalfi town.

    • VALID PASSPORT (ensure it's valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates)

    • toiletry bag (with toothbrush, travel-sized toothpaste, face moisturizer, lip balm, hand sanitizer)

    • medications (if you get car sick, Dramamine is recommended)

  • Italy uses Type C and F electrical outlets (European standard). Bring appropriate adapters for your electronics. Most modern devices work with dual-voltage chargers, but check your specific devices (for example, Dyson Air Wraps are not compatible with European outlets).
